You Wore WHAT!? 

So when my editor said that a piece on Salman Khan needs to go up on our site, it was the Hunger Games at work to bag the byline. I want to say that I was dignified but that'll be a boldfaced lie. 

The only reason I got the opportunity to write is because I hid my editor's hand sanitizer and refused to return it until he let me write about Salman Bhai.

When Salman walks into a room or onscreen, he does not merely walk in, he owns the goddamn place. 

And through his time on and off screen, he's managed to impact the nation's style choices. He does it with no real effort but the impact is widespread.

These are Salman's coolest style statements. 

The bracelet 


Any time Salman raises his hand to wave at his fans, you are blinded by the silver bracelet with the turquoise stone. Every Salman fan worth his salt has an imitation of the bracelet and they wear it as loose as Bhai does, with no fear that it might actually slip off their wrists. 

Maine Pyar Kiya 'Friend' cap


In his second film, Salman told us that a guy and a girl can't really be friends but that did not stop him from presenting heroine Bhagyashree with a hat that said exactly that. Bet with that cap Salman made being friendzoned cool. 

Tere Naam hairstyle


I'm calling this one out. The Tere Naam hairstyle was so cheesy and so not Salman's jam but it took off like a rage. I swear, every guy I knew in 2003 either had the Tere Naam cut or was thinking about getting it. 

Dabangg aviators  


What? You thought Salman would just wear a pair of aviators like a regular person? No, sir. He had hearts on his glasses to see the good in the world. 

And when it came time to whip the baddies, Salman stored the shades in an uber safe place - the collar at the back of his shirt.

Being Human t-shirts


Salman is the most vocal spokesperson for his charity organisation Being Human. But he does not really say much about the organisation, he only attends events in a muscle-hugging Being Human tee. And since the time he's worn the t-shirt, every kid around the corner too has. 

Suiting up


Salman might be the casual sorta guy but when he suits up, man, watch out! He's so dapper and suave and it goes without saying that his suits are as sharp as can be.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan pendant

 

With his latest release, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman has created another sensation - the Bajrangi Bhaijaan pendant. You did not have to be much of a genius to guess that the pendant would become a rage. And it has. The most outrageous one of the many doing the rounds is a diamond studded one.
